Here's a little bit about me and why Bible matters to me
About this site
And when we have a clearer picture of who He is, then we can better understand who we are and why we exist.
Genuine faith in Jesus Christ, that robust, unshakeable belief in Him, and spiritual maturity can’t be artificially manufactured, hot-housed or created through a casual reading of a scripturally based blog.
But, this site might just help to spark a thought, cultivate an idea, or plant a seed of faith that may grow into something long lasting and beautiful.

About me
"I love socializing with family and friends, where the conversation is unshackled, jokes are free flowing, debates are lively, and the laughter is bouncing off the walls..."
G’day,
I live in a sunburnt country, down under—Australia.
It’s a place where raging bushfires, flash floods and toilet paper shortages are considered national disasters of equal significance.
Conditions are tough, but the people are tougher.
We wrestle crocodiles, box with kangaroos, make footstools out of echidnas—prickly side up—and squash red back spiders with our bare thumbs. Okay, I exaggerate, but only because I’m nestled with my family in tree lined suburbia.
In my waking hours, I teach eager (and not so eager) young minds on Business Studies, Public Speaking and Bible. Fun times. I’m not even being sarcastic. I love teaching.
I love socializing with family and friends, where the conversation is unshackled, jokes are free flowing, debates are lively, and the laughter is bouncing off the walls.
I enjoy good food (perhaps, too much) and I’m irresistibly drawn to dark chocolate. Of late, I’ve taken a fancy to strong and bitey cheese.
I like plucking instruments with strings, like my guitar and ukuleles. And though I’ve acquired a taste for the distinctive twang of the banjolele, my family insist that I play it only when no one else but Jesus is around.
I love stories. I watch stories played out on screen. I listen to stories. I read stories. I write stories.
Lots of people adopt pets; I adopt books.
My bookcases are overstuffed with piles of them. Every time I turn around they’ve multiplied. It’s as if they’re breeding secretly in the darkest corners of my bookshelves. Why else would I own that many books?
And for me, one of life’s simple pleasures is to wind down with a good book before lights out.
Blessings,
Shirley Nightingale
